I’m sure you’ve all noticed I haven’t been blogging a lot this year. I’ve been posting on Facebook and Twitter more than not. Please join me on social media to connect and hang out.
In the meantime, I wanted to wish you and yours very happy holidays in 2013 and a wonderful new year!
Hard to believe fall is here already, not only that, October is slipping through the hourglass faster than I can keep up. It’s a lovely time of year, outside of the cold weather (not a fan), it’s the beginning of the holidays and all good things.
It’s also when writers hibernate for the winters and write our little fingers off. LOL.
What’s your favorite part of fall?
I can’t believe it. It’s mid-June? WTH? Half the year is gone already. I feel as though the older I get, the faster the days pass.
Anybody else feel that way? Anyhoo, at the end of this month I’ll be in New York for the Book Obsessed Chicks BBQ. Then vacation!
Summer solstice arrives on Friday. Let’s all give thanks for arriving safely into a new season and for the sweet summer heat. Especially after the never-ending winter.
There are plenty of photos on Facebook to attest to how fun Lori Foster’s Reader Author Get Together was. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
It’s one of those events that’s unstructured giving you a chance to just be with peeps, new and known. It was awesome!
I’m suffering from post-I-shouldn’t-have-eaten-that syndrome and recovery will be a few days.
Meanwhile, how did it get to be mid-June already? Wha?
It’s getting warm y’all – summer is about to hit here in NC. Upper 80s and humidity, here we come!
I’m happy about this because I like the heat. Not for too long, mind you. I do enjoy my A/C. :)
Hope the warm weather reaches everyone soon!
This is a holiday weekend in the US (Canada had theirs last weekend). That means I have 3 days off in a row. Wheee!!
What shall I do? Edit this book, send it back to my editor. Then edit another book and finish it to send it to my agent. Will I get both books done this weekend? Highly doubtful but I’m gonna try. Also need to prepare for RAGT – Lori Foster’s weekend. I should look at the schedule of events and make sure I have everything I need…
It’s supposed to be good weather here in NC for a change (low humidity, 70s). I might pull out the chaise lounge and edit out on the deck in the sun!
In other news, May is almost over. O_O How do these months keep slipping away from me? I swear it was just January and now it’s almost summer. RT is over, RAGT is in 2 weeks (yay!). Wowza. *smh*
I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing (holiday or not) weekend!
And please don’t forget the meaning of Memorial Day weekend – which was called Remembrance Day, a holiday created after the Civil War to honor those men and women who gave their lives for their country in military service. There are so many and we owe them so much.
I’m still alive, I swear, but I’m in the writing cave. Still have 10K to write and lots of work to do in my real life. I won’t be online much for a few more days.
Keep the fires burning and the drinks cold!
As expected, the weather went from 25 below normal to 15 above normal. Shazam! It happens in NC that way quite a bit – we sort of miss spring and go right from winter to summer.
A few days ago, it never got out of the 40s. Today it’s going to be 83. O_o
I shouldn’t complain and I won’t. Peeps still have snow on the ground and I consider myself super lucky to have warm sunshine.
The one thing many don’t have is the pine pollen that comes with spring. It gathers like yellow tree land mines waiting for an unsuspecting car or person to pass beneath it then BAM! A shower of yellow. Sometimes when it’s windy you can see the pollen explode in a cloud of yellow into the air.
It’s the time of year you either wash your car every two days or you wait the two weeks until it’s over. LOL.
I’m happy for all of it – the good and the bad. Winter is finally over and conference season begins in three weeks. Huzzah!
