Writing cave and lots of work

I’m still alive, I swear, but I’m in the writing cave. Still have 10K to write and lots of work to do in my real life. I won’t be online much for a few more days.

Keep the fires burning and the drinks cold!

Spring arrived… finally

As expected, the weather went from 25 below normal to 15 above normal. Shazam! It happens in NC that way quite a bit – we sort of miss spring and go right from winter to summer.

A few days ago, it never got out of the 40s. Today it’s going to be 83. O_o

I shouldn’t complain and I won’t. Peeps still have snow on the ground and I consider myself super lucky to have warm sunshine.

The one thing many don’t have is the pine pollen that comes with spring. It gathers like yellow tree land mines waiting for an unsuspecting car or person to pass beneath it then BAM! A shower of yellow. Sometimes when it’s windy you can see the pollen explode in a cloud of yellow into the air.

It’s the time of year you either wash your car every two days or you wait the two weeks until it’s over. LOL.

I’m happy for all of it – the good and the bad. Winter is finally over and conference season begins in three weeks. Huzzah!

Happy spring, er, winspring?

It seems we’re all suffering from the same problem. Winter, being the obnoxious witch she is, won’t let spring take her proper place. It’s cold! It’s below normal temperatures! I’m still wearing heavy coats!

I. NEED. SPRING.

I want to feel warm sunshine and wear short sleeves outside. My yard is in pitiful shape but it’s too cold and rainy on the weekends to do anything.

*more whining ensues*

So I decided we’re having winspring – that weird place between winter and spring where it seems like Mother Nature is smoking something.

Let’s all band together and wish really, really hard and maybe spring will be allowed to take her rightful place.

*crossing all fingers and toes*

Powerful stuff – To This Day

Watch this video of Shane Koyczan, author of “To This Day” – it’s powerful and empowering. Made me teary eyed but reinforced my dreams to be a writer. We are all beautiful!

Home stretch

Just a few thousand more words and my WIP is finis. Yay! I shall be heads down (when I’m not blowing my nose because of the stupid allergies) getting this done. DONE!

No time to celebrate when I’m done, well, maybe a little. :)

Sunday is my niece’s wedding day so I’m going to take the day off and be crazily happy for her!

Time is flying again

I can’t believe its’ Wednesday already, and January 9th! Where did the last 9 days go? I swear as I get older, time speeds up.

I’m deep in the throes of preparing CALEB for release, including a fabulous blog tour and a virtual book signing. You too can get a signed paperback copy of CALEB on release day delivered to your home. Details coming soon, I promise!

I am awaiting edits on THE PROSPECT, book 2 in the Malloy prequels, from my beta readers. Then it’s off to mon editor. Woot!

Lastly, I am having a ball writing something completely different. Flying through it, as it were, like I sprouted wings. I LOVE this story. It’s got everything I crave in a book and then some. Right now I call it Six Shooter, but that may change depending on others’ opinions. All I’m gonna say is – cowboys, space, danger, sex, and fun. OMG!

I hope y’all have a great rest of your week!
