It seem as though this year has gone by at light speed – and I’m barely keeping up. There are only a few days left in August – it’s nearly September and I’m goggle-eyed at that!
I’ve written three books this year and am working on the fourth. But I always feel as though I can do more – all part of that writerly self-confidence thing that I struggle with. I want to do more but there are only so many hours in the day. And they are racing past me, sticking out their tongue and saying “nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah!”
Some days I wish I could lock myself in a room and pound out a book in a weekend. It would probably be junk but it would purge the elemental urge I have to write. I’d be burned to a crisp for a while. LOL. At the same time, I love to savor the thrill of writing a book, the excitement when I discover a new character or the book takes a sudden turn to the right, or the ultimate satisfaction, when it all comes together in the end.
I’ll keep writing, finish this book and hopefully one more before 2012 closes its doors. Then I cross my fingers and wait for release dates for 2013. LOL.
