I’m still in TN for work (hoo boy am I tired) but I wanted to let y’all know I’m hanging out with Leagh today on Romance Book Craze. I’m giving away a signed book too! Swing by if you can!

This should be a pretty memorable weekend y’all. Today is the most boring day because I get my washer fixed – yay no more leaking water!
Tomorrow will be hurricane day – it’s going to pound the beejeezuz out of North Carolina, especially the Outer Banks. We will get about two inches of rain and sustained winds of 25-30 MPH. And I have book club. At my neighbor’s pool. O_O Not likely at the pool right?
The hostess has arranged for cooking lessons from a chef along with the pool time, but it looks like we will just be cooking. And drinking of course. What’s book club without alcohol?
Sunday the hurricane should be past NC and headed up the east coast. I am flying out to Tennessee for four days for work on Sunday morning. Wish me luck that there are no travel delays – there shouldn’t be but you never know.
I’ll be scarce next week since I’ll be working my fanny off so y’all be good (or at least don’t get caught being bad ;).
So my 15 YO heads to school today. 10th grade. *sigh* I remember 10th grade well and here my younger son is headed to high school to experience it for himself. It truly shocks me to think how much time has passed since I was 15 and starting 10th grade. Listening to Journey and Pat Benatar, big hair, skinny butt.
You know when the older son turns 20 (in less than 6 months) I shall feel it like a mortal blow. My CHILD will be two decades old. Where in the hell did those 20 years go? I’d like a recount please.
As I hug the 15 YO goodbye this morning (he will allow this, thank God), I will try not to get teary. After all, we’ve done this a number of times already. But this year he’s headed to school with a learner’s permit, contacts, size 12 feet and a piece of mom’s heart.

I’ve had a week of food intolerance/allergy hell – started with the foolish trip to Chick-Fil-A and now I’m still suffering a week later. Urg.
My immune and antihistamine systems go on high alert, a hair trigger kinda thing. Then when I ingest anything remotely bad for me, they go to war. I suffer the slings and arrows.
Had to leave work yesterday afternoon and come home to rest. Something I ate for lunch triggered a battle within. I’m better this morning but I decided to work from home today and eat my own gluten-free, soy-free, corn-free food.
Since I’m traveling to Nashville on Sunday, I need to settle the troops down. No more battles this week!
I also have a huge pile of copy edits to get done before I go to TN (help me). Oh and get some more done on my WIP, that’d be good.
From her bat cave, signing off…
This weekend will be full. FULL. Along with my 15 YO starting bowling up again tomorrow, I have my homeowners picnic in the afternoon. DH is on the board of the HOA, so he will be setting up, helping, etc.
Oh and I got my copy edits for MATTHEW yesterday, which I need to start so I can get them back to the fair Megan Records at Kensington. Then writing, yes I must WRITE. I’ve been such a slacker the last week after finishing my edits. There is so much I want to get written, I’ve got to get back into it.
Writing for me is like exercising. If I slack off for a week, my muscles are sore and it’s hard to get back into my rhythm. The characters get mad at me and don’t talk, which makes it even harder.
I’m going to take hubby on a date Sunday for lunch and a movie too. I need some alone time with my man.
I also have a million things to do this weekend. I’m going to have to make a list. Yep, I sure am. I shall be the busy girl so I can check things off the list – there’s a lot of satisfaction in doing that. One of the reasons I make lists – it makes me feel like I’ve done something when I cross out the stuff on the list. Hee.
I’d also like to catch up on sleep.
Last weekend I did, which was fabulous. I need to catch up this weekend too. Do ya think I should put that on my list?
I’m back from a two-day whirlwind trip to Chi-town. Didn’t see much but the aiport, the hotel and work. LOL. When I told one of my colleagues I hadn’t been to downtown Chicago in 10 years, his brows went up and he said, we need to get you down there. Hee.
I told him next year I’ll be there for a convention! Yes, RT in Chi-town. Can’t wait!
I have about a week and a half before I travel again, for work, to Nashville, Tennessee. My company’s user’s convention is there and I’ll be working my sorry butt off (truly I hope that does happen although the treadmill has done a good job already).
I’ve sent my September novella A COWBOY’S MUSE off to my beta reader (yay!) and dove into my new WIP, WWW: ROWAN. Can’t tell you much besides the name although I’m keeping WWW a secret for now. And no, it’s not world wide web. LOL. I’ve got to get that written and off to my agent in the next 6 weeks *crossing fingers*.
Hard to believe it’s Wednesday already. It’s been a long weird week already. But it is hump day, and that gives me ideas…
Have a great day y’all!
Due to circumstances beyond their control, my newsletter host had to shut down their service. So right now I have no newsletter host and no real way to send it out in 3 weeks to y’all.
Here’s my question – do y’all read the newsletter and should I find another host? I spend time writing it and getting it sent out and I want to be sure you’re finding it useful.
Let me know!
