My local RWA chapter, Heart of Carolina (HCRW), is a fabulous group of writers, both published and unpublished. I’m proud to be part of such a great organization.

Today, June 17th, is my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. They are the most in love couple I have ever met in my life. They’ve had an amazing fifty years and are still going strong.

We’re headed to Asheville to celebrate for the weekend. Here’s to my Mom & Dad!

But now I either have a cold or a wickedly bad allergy attack. I think that’s my number 3, right? As in bad things come in three… fall down stairs, stung by wasp and head/chest cold? I sound a little like Lauren Bacall, all husky voiced. Colds like my chest (I’m guessing they’re male) because it ALWAYS goes there.

On a positive note, DH and I went out to dinner last night then he insisted on buying me the Nook color even though I didn’t have enough. *loves* It’s GORGEOUS! I am waiting for him to put the screen protector on it so I don’t scratch it up but I keep playing with it. Oh boy, I love my new toy.

It’s also Wednesday so I have today and tomorrow, then a 3-day weekend. Woohoo! Off to the NC mountains to celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary at Grove Park Inn. Hopefully my ankle will be up to snuff, or at least sufficiently healed to walk around without pain. I can bring tissues with me so I’m covered as far as my cold goes. LOL.

I’m having a streak of bad luck y’all. After a wasp sting on my left toe (owwwww) I proceeded to fall down the stairs yesterday morning (owwww) and sprain my right ankle. It’s not the one I had surgery on last year (thank God!) and it’s not too bad of a sprain. I can’t exercise, which is a bummer for my weight loss goals, but I don’t have to use crutches either. I’ve got my aircast I can use to walk around at work. At home I’m just using my ace bandage.

It’s Tuesday which means good things will now happen. No more bad luck 13, right? I am ready to get cracking on my novella that I want to have done by June 27th and then go to the RWA conference.

Silly me, I just need to stop injuring myself. Easier said than done because I am the clumsy queen. *sigh*
