Launch Contest Day #6

Happy Saturday and welcome to contest day 6!

It’s a snowy/sleety/yucky day here in NC and I’m a little late getting my post up. Something about the morning made me sleep late, which was of course quite nice. :)

I went to my book club last night, came home exhausted after a couple of hours, and didn’t get a chance to discuss the book.

So for today’s post, we’re going to talk about books. I just started The Bargain Bride by Barbara Metzger. I love the kind of romances where the marriage is based on money, then there’s conflict (lots of it), then there’s love (lots of it).

I also just got The Gentleman’s Quest by Deborah Simmons, one of my favorite HQ authors. I will finish the other book first even though I’m verrrry tempted.

The rest of my TBR pile is so enormous, it’s frightening.

How about y’all, tell me what book you’re currently reading, just finished, or are just about to start.

    Hi Beth,
I’m a fan of Deborah Simmons too, loved her books about de Burgh family.
I’m reading Lara Adrian’s Shades of Midnight, next will be The Border Lord and the Lady by Bertice Small, I love her historicals.

I haven’t read Deborah Simmons yet. I’ll have to give her a try! I just finished reading a children’s book called 11 Birthdays (Wendy Mass) because the premise was cute (sort of a Groundhog Day scenario with a girl on her 11th birthday) and I wanted to see if it’d be appropriate for my 7 year old to read. Definitely a fun read :)

I’ve got Larissa Ione’s 3rd Demonica title ready to start, but haven’t had time to get going on Wraith’s story yet… And the TBR is so big that I would be seriously hurt if it happened to fall on me. Which I’m hoping it never does, since I can’t help adding to it. All. The. Time. :)

I’m almost done with Nina Bruhn’s’ “Shoot to Thrill.” This is the second book in a series and I’ve enjoyed both books and look forward to the release of the third.

Right now I’m avoiding the TBR by re-reading Dorothy L. Sayers’ The Complete Lord Peter stories.

    I’m evil, I know.

I just started reading Lessons In French by Laura Kinsale. This is the first book that I’ve read of hers and so far it’s utterly charming. Up next I think I will read a paranormal maybe Ecstasy Unveiled, or Legend of the White Wolf
