Happy Halloween

Had to post this – it’s so damn clever!

Ah, Friday

Just about my favorite day of the week to be truthful. I love coming home Friday night to relax. I do no cooking, thank you very much, but I enjoy something good like gluten-free pizza (from the toaster oven) and a gluten-free beer.

Ahhhhhhhhhh…….

What about y’all? Favorite Friday activities you want to share?

An apocalypse approaches in the new novel from bestselling author Shayla Black’s electrifying Doomsday Brethren series, as a magical warrior and a spirited witch ignite a smoldering passion that could destroy them both.

As a mysterious dark cloud drains the life of her beloved brother, Doomsday Brethren leader Bram, Sabelle Rion can think of little else. Still, every time she meets Ice Rykard’s intense green gaze, her body aches with need for the sexy warrior. Their attraction is explosive, incredible—and forbidden. As dangerous as he is unpredictable, Ice is her brother’s sworn enemy. But as Bram weakens, a more sinister force is gaining power. Evil Mathias and his ruthless Anarki army are on a bloodthirsty hunt for the Doomsday Diary. Sabelle must guard the potent book with her life—and Ice vows to protect the beautiful witch with his. Duty demands that Sabelle deny her lover’s fiery call of possession and mate with a man who can sway the magical Council against the impending rebellion. With the fate of magickind hanging in the balance, will she forsake the burning desires she can’t ignore or turn her back on her people for the courageous man she can’t resist?

Cool! Up for presale on Amazon

I was Googling my new pen name for Kensington, Emma Lang, last night and found a site with a link to Amazon preorder of Ruthless Heart!

Sweet! Now if only the delicious cover would go up!

Ruthless Heart

AND, my Berkley Heat book, Unbridled, is also up for preorder on Amazon!

Oh, happy day! WOOOOOOO!

Oh, and I’m glad it’s Wednesday. Really glad although my eyes are gritty this morning and I ate a salad yesterday (Taco Bell) which was obviously not gluten free. I won’t share the details. LOL.

I hope you all have a fabulous “hump” day! :D

Now that’s love

Read this story about a widow who has walked 10,000 miles in memory of her husband.

Now that, ladies and gents, is love. It took her years but she’s about to hit the 10K mark. That’s just beyond staggering to me.

They had been married 56 years before he passed away in 1998. I did some quick calculations in my head (a scary proposition), and determined if she was 77 when he died, they got married when she was 21. I got married at 22.

Wow, just wow.

And then, Friday

I swear this week had been incredibly busy and yet gone by so fast. I didn’t mean to miss so many blog days. *sigh* With my in-laws visiting, I didn’t have much free time, and virtually no writing time. But ya know, family is family right?

This weekend should give me more writing time and I need to catch up to make my December 1 deadline of my second Emma Lang book. Strangely enough, I wrote the whole book in my head yesterday while driving. LOL. You know, I see books in my head like a movie and for this one, it was a trailer that basically ran the entire book past my brain.

I know, I know. Weird, eh?

The good news is I am in the zone, in the groove where I can simply sit down and write it. It’s a good thing when I tune out a Black Eyed Peas song (my current fav band!) to plot. :D

Anyhoo, Happy Friday! It’s been a long week with lots of busy happenings. This weekend shall be less busy and more relaxing (I hope), with much writing… oh and reading too. I really need to reward myself for finishing my Heat book a week ago!

Don’t forget, I’ll be signing books with other HCRW authors 5 pm this Saturday, October 24th at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Conference Center, Durham, NC. If you’re in the area, come on by!

Er, Wednesday?

I totally forgot to post yesterday. I realized it was Wednesday this morning and thought, oops.

Hard to believe it’s October 21st already, isn’t it? Where has the year gone? I swear I blink and bam! It’s already in the Christmas season. *wince* I had to bring it up, but since I only get paid once a month (both royalties and my day job), that means I have two paychecks until Christmas.

Ugh.

Now back to real life, I’m very excited to see that daylight saving time is nearly over. November 1 cannot be here soon enough. Ye gods, I am so righteously sick and tired of it so dark in the morning. I get up at 5 am to get DS ready for middle school. It’s not only dark y’all, the freakin’ stars are out.

I don’t really see the advantage of daylight saving time, particularly since GWB extended it by several weeks (thank ya kindly) to save lighting costs of some such reason. As I sit here at nearly 7 am, I am watching the eastern sky brighten but I can STILL SEE A STAR.

Oh, and of course, I will get an extra hour of sleep when daylight saving time ends.

In other news, I’ll be signing books with other HCRW authors 5 pm this Saturday, October 24th at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Conference Center, Durham, NC. If you’re in the area, come on by!
