Happiest Hump Day to you all! It’s one day closer to my vacation (woot!)
Sometimes you know how you hear something so incredibly out there in the news that it makes you laugh? Well I heard a story on the radio the other day and it goes like this…
Three crooks decided to steal a recliner from the Goodwill store.
They broke in and loaded said recliner in their van.
The van ran out of gas in the PARKING LOT of the Goodwill store.
The crooks were arrested by police.
The End.
If you’re like me, you laughed. I mean, for real people, if you’re going to steal a piece of furniture, why pick the donated, used chair? And then be dumb enough to not have enough gas to make it out of the parking lot?
Anybody else have an incredibly funny, yet sadly stupid, story like this to share?

Ah, it’s no longer Monday, thank Gawd. This week started out a bit rough – let’s just say yard work that includes marble chips, weeding and mulch turned my back into a blob of muscle agony.
I’m trying to take it easy now since I leave on Sunday for Vegas! Oh, yeah, four days along with my DH and no kidlets. I am soooooooooo excited. :D
However I’m not excited about the 5 pounds of water weight I’m currently toting around. Blech. Drinking water like a madwoman and have now sworn off salty foods for the next five days. I do not want to fly when I’m feeling bloated. Some days it sucks to be female, doesn’t it?
Back to my fun trip (stop whining girl!), this is only my second time in Vegas, so I’m open to any and all advice. I love to play roulette, some blackjack and love, love, love slots. My DH has taught me how to play craps, although I don’t think I’ll ever get all the rules straight in my head.
We’re going to try to go to an old West town while we’re there, see one show, sleep late, relax and do whatever we feel like. It sounds so heavenly. I’ve been going at about 1000 miles an hour the entire summer and now that DS #2 is gone for three weeks with the in-laws, things have slowed down to maybe 500 miles per hour.
I. Need. This. Trip.
I’ll be posting fun pics while I’m gone so look for them. In the meantime, have a fabulous Tuesday and don’t work too hard (or you’ll end up stressed, tired and bloated like me).

Then you’re going to love this! Samhain is giving you the chance. Pop on over to The Samhellion website and find out how to get yourself the opportunity to download half an e-book from one of three authors (yep, that includes me).
Whatcha waiting for? Here’s the link!

As opposed to my Monday rant, today is the fantastical day we call Friday. Oh, how I love to love Fridays. In fact, it’s inspiring me to write a poem…
Ode to Friday
Friday, oh, Friday, you are number one
When you arrive we are all undone
We covet, love and anticipate you
Drink, be merry, and maybe eat fondue
Celebrate with joy and perhaps your boyfriend
‘Cause Monday’s coming and that’ll be the end
*bowing*
Thank you for the applause! LMAO! I know, I know, my poem sucked, but hey, it’s Friday so who cares?
Have a wonderful, fabulous weekend y’all!

This is going to be a bit of a rant so hang onto your britches.
It really annoys the absolute crap out of me when people park so remarkably crooked in a parking space they end up partly in the next one. As someone who’s been driving for 24 years, you KNOW when you’ve parked badly or aren’t centered in the spot. I refuse to believe these folks who park at a 45 degree angle don’t know their vehicle isn’t situated properly.
There are two types of these crooked parkers. Type 1 is the one in a hurry to get something, perhaps Starbucks or that purse on sale at Lord & Taylor. They don’t park crooked all the time, only when absolutely necessary.
Then there’s type 2. *gathering steam*
These are the people who don’t give a flying f*ck about anyone else in any parking situation. They either deliberately park crooked and take up two spaces to prevent anyone from parking next to them (preventing scratches and dings I suppose). OR, they simply don’t care if they’re crooked or if they inconvenience anyone else. These are also the ones who park where there is no parking space or block others in just to return a movie or drop off their kid.
Type 2’s are repeat offenders on a daily basis.
There’s one such person here at my job. I work in a corporate building with a large parking garage (6 floors). At this point, there are about 700 people who work in the building. This particular type 2 offender is a manager in our client support organization. She drives a huge SUV (no surprise there) and every goddamn day she parks it crooked on the line so only the bravest soul would park to the right of her.
*gritting teeth*
I KNOW she knows her offense, but she doesn’t seem to care. Here is a smart, attractive 40-something woman who has no consideration for others. Even if she didn’t realize the SUV was crooked when she pulled in, after you exit (or climb down the ladder) the vehicle, you have to see that not only are you at a 45 degree angle but you’re taking up 1 1/2 parking spaces!
*gritting teeth*
One morning I pulled in right before she did and I glanced over, disgusted. After I shook my head and got my things together to get out of the car, wonder of wonders, she STRAIGHTENED the SUV in the parking space.
There was confirmation of her crime, her daily crime against everyone else that works here. If I had a pair of brass ones I’d leave a note on her car every day thanking her for her inconsiderate parking.
Gah! Okay rant over, you may return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Can you believe it? The planning is very much underway for the Romantic Times convention in 2009. It’s going to be in Orlando (woo!) at the Wyndham Resort. I hope for a much better hotel experience than the under-construction Pittsburgh Hilton.
Well, the big news is that a proposal for a workshop I sent in my peep and CP, Sasha White, has been accepted! I’m doing my first workshop.
Nervous, excited, and surprised. :)
We just got the advance brochure and our workshop is in it, along with our purty pictures.
YING AND YANG: WHY OPPOSITES CAN (AND SHOULD) BE CRITIQUE PARTNERS
(1 hour) Finding someone to ride along on your journey to a manuscript completion can be a challenge — but what if the person you find writes in a genre on the opposite end of the spectrum? These two multi-published authors will talk about how being on different planes of writing can be an asset to making your stories stronger. They’ll also give you tips on how to figure out what’s most important FOR YOU in a critique partner, and how to find the person who will help you learn and grow as a writer. (An interactive workshop with writing exercises, so attendees should come prepared with a pen and paper).
I just had to toot my horn and hope everyone who will be at RT 2009 will come to our workshop!

The print version of the Secret Thoughts anthology is on my mind. Why? Well, because my peep Sasha sent me the awesome cover:

And, it’s up for preorder on Amazon!
I’m excited to finally be in print with my buddies Sasha, JJ, Laura and S. Desires. If you’re in the mood for an extremely hot erotica anthology, this antho should be your first stop.
