RT and a Stay at Home Contest!

I’ll be gone starting today through next Monday the 30th at the Romantic Times Convention. I’ve gone “no mail” on all my groups, but you can still e-mail me directly because I’m bringing my laptop.

Here are the details for my stay at home contest for everyone not able to attend the convention. See below for another contest on Samhain’s java stop on the Coffee Time Romance Forum.

1. You enter the contest by “signing” the blog post – it’s kind of like an autograph book for everyone I won’t be able to meet.
2. Everyone is welcome to post if you are not attending the RT Convention.
3. Each person that posts is eligible for the drawing.
4. One entry per person.
5. Winner gets print copy of choice from my backlist AND a heaping bag of goodies from RT.
5. There might be runner-up prizes so post!

Good luck y’all! For those of you going to Houston, I’ll be:

Thursday, Club RT: 4:00 pm
Friday, Club RT: 11:00 am
Saturday, Book Fair: 11-2:00 pm

Sexy Spurs subscribers come find me in Houston! I have treat-filled tote bags for you!

And Another Contest!! More goodies, y’all!

Samhain Spring Showers!

More excerpts are now up on the Samhain Spring Shower forum contest. More chances for you to enter and win one of three fabulous prizes.

This weeks prizes:
One print copy of With Nine You Get Vanyr by Jean Marie Ward and Teri Smith
One Beth Williamson ebook download of choice (from Samhain Publishing)
One ebook download of Strip Tease by Kate Davies

So come along and make a comment, any comment (though the nicer ones would be more appreciated :) ) and get your entries into this free draw. Winners of last’s week’s draw will be announced here and on the forum, tomorrow. Good luck to everyone.

Today's a special day

It’s my son’s birthday.

I’ll be doing the birthday/cake/celebration thing all day so I can’t play. See you tomorrow for my last day before heading to Houston!

A Saturday Morning Funny

I got this from my peep Janice. It made me LOL!

How to Install a Home Security System

1. Go to a second-hand store and buy a pair of men’s used size 14-16 work boots.

2. Place them on your front porch, along with several empty beer cans, a copy of Guns &Ammo magazine and several NRA magazines.

3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazine.

4. Leave a note on your door that reads:
“Hey Bubba, Big Jim, Duke, Mugsy, and Rocko, I went to the gun shop for some more ammunition. Be back in an hour. Don’t
mess with the pit bulls, they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up real bad. I don’t think Killer took part in it, but it was hard to tell with all the blood.

PS – I locked all four of ‘em in the house. Better wait outside.”

My Purty New Cover

This is done already because it’s going to be at Book Expo America in June. Isn’t it purty?

Scott Carpenter is my bestest friend. I lurve him. The cover up at Samhain is slightly different because he made a last minute change for me and switched the DOH banner with my name. I’m so spoiled.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things I Like about RT

1. Being able to put faces with names.

2. Discussing romance novels with people who don’t look at you as if you’ve lost your mind.

3. Not having to hide the cover of the book I’m reading.

4. Free stuff (love those goodies!).

5. Club RT – being able to talk to authors when I know they’ll be there, and hey, there’s shopping too!

6. Finally meeting my Samhain editor, Sasha. (squee!)

7. Not having to worry about making lunches or my kids’ schedules for a few days.

8. Free books (confession of a book ho).

9. Getting together with all my Loose Id and Samhain peeps.

10. Ogling cover models in the Mr. Romance Pageant.

11. Seeing Scott Carpenter and buying him a drink for all the amazing covers he’s done for me.

12. Getting to see and hug Sasha White again.

13. Meeting the readers and having fun!!

Hope to see y’all next week. If not, be sure to check back starting next Tuesday for my stay at home RT Contest!

Countdown and a Contest

Okay so I’ve got six days until I leave for the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention. Am I ready?

Um, no.

I have packed one small suitcase with miscellaneous stuff in it that will not be coming back with me. It will become my book suitcase. Yes, I am a dork, but they have this goodie room at RT and you get to pick like six books free. Note to self, see which volumes of Secrets you’re missing.

What else have I done? I’ve shipped my promo items to Texas, and a friend is bringing them to the hotel for me (thanks Minta babe!).

Other than that, I haven’t packed a thing! I haven’t picked out my seminars or put my schedule together so I know where to be. No panicking!!

For everyone that can’t attend RT, I know it sucks. So I want y’all to know that I’m going to have a post up on my blog from the 24th through the 29th for everyone to sign – kind of like an autograph book. Post a comment and when I get back, one lucky winner gets a goodie bag of RT stuff I pick up PLUS a paperback copy of choice of my books.

Sound good? Cool! Okay, next Tuesday the 24th, I’ll post the Contest blog entry. It will be up until I get back on the 30th. It’ll be fun! So everybody that I won’t see in Houston, stop by and say hi.

Three Wishes

My post today is a “What if…” question. The question is… If you were granted three wishes, what would you wish for?

It’s actually harder than it sounds. My first reaction was:

1. A butt-load of money.

2. Healthy lives for my family.

3. NY book contracts for life.

Yep, I immediately thought of me, me, me.

What about ending world hunger? That would be a pretty cool wish. Honestly that should have been my first wish, if I hadn’t been thinking of me.

What about ending terrorism? Now there’s a wish I could get my hands around.

What do Miss America contestants wish for? Oh yeah, world peace. That’s a good one too. Sounds like I’m building a utopia here.

Of course, none of my wishes directly affect me. It makes me think, well, what if I save one for me? Ya know, just a little bitty one… like the butt-load of money. I could write full-time and send my kids to any college they want.

So what about y’all – what three wishes would you make?
