Officially Official

Check it out, y’all! I’m officially official. I just found my book signing on the Borders website events listing for the North Raleigh store on October 7.

Here’s the store’s website, and here’s the event listing for me.

*happy dance*

I am SOOOO nervous. I mean, I did book signings at RT and RWA, but this… this is just ME. I sure as heck somebody out there shows up (besides my mom I mean) for it!

If you’re around Raleigh on October 7, please come by!! It’s from 1 to 2 pm at the North Raleigh Borders. Hope to see you there!

The Internet, The Internet, My Kingdom for the Internet!

Yeah, bad pun on Richard III, but hello seriously. Some men digging a trench next door cut our cable line yesterday.
That meant no tv, no phone, and NO INTERNET. *gasp*
You don’t realize how much you count on it until you don’t have it. Like a baby denied mother’s milk. Like a flower denied the sun! (Am I being too dramatic? )
Sigh… I couldn’t wait to get to work this morning so I could check my e-mail. I am such a total dork.
Anyhoo, I’ve got a ton of stuff to catch up on – thought I’d share my pitiful story with y’all. Amazing how fifteen years ago, I thought my 8 MB hard drive was the coolest thing on the planet.
What do you think? Are we too dependent on the Internet?

Aren't these cool?

My fabuloso web designer, Frauke, has added some Halloween smilies to my blog. I love them!
My favorites:

I have such wonderful memories of Halloween as a kid. It’s funny how my parents let us go out for hours alone, yet now I won’t even let my 10 year old walk around our small neighborhood without an escort. And then there’s the candy… do you remember getting popcorn balls? Yep, I loved those! Oh, oh, and the cheap older couple that wrapped 10 pennies in tape?
Then when i got older – well, the rotten tomato fights with the boys in the neighborhood. And I remember very clearly getting hit with eggs from a moving car… we were all so evil!
Any favorite Halloween memories to share?

Sigh… Monday

Again. Let’s do something fun to liven it up, eh?

Quiz time! Yes, I know I’m a dork, but I love them.

Hey, I was a swan! Way cool!

Master of what???

Okay, my good friend Allie sent this to me. My least favorite quote? “You have no right to question him.”
Sad thing is, this was only 50 years ago! Ugh. I think I might be sick.
Check that picture

Contest Day Two!

Still rolling along everyone! Keep on posting to win a copy of The Bounty or The Prize in paperback with matching bookmark! Everyone that posts on my blog Tuesday and Wednesday (September 19-20) is going to be entered in the drawing.

Joy told me she saw The Reward at Borders last night! So cool! They don’t have them yet in the Borders around Raleigh, but I haven’t checked Waldenbooks yet. Woop!

Anyhoo, so it’s Wednesday already and tomorrow is the first day of fall officially – the autumnal equinox. Sounds fancy when you say that way, doesn’t it?

So tell me, what’s your favorite memory of fall? Mine is watching my kids jump in the leaves after we spent hours raking them. They had so much fun running and jumping.

My second favorite memory is the electric bill going down because the air conditioning isn’t running 24/7. Tomorrow is only supposed to be 75 (wooooo!) with a low of 48! Wowza!

Okay, let ‘er rip. Everyone share their favorite fall/autumn memories – including Halloween and Thanksgiving of course.

Celebrate with a reward!

Woohoo!! Today is the official release day in print of The Reward, book 3 of the Malloy family series.
Read the book that Rachelle at Fallen Angels Reviews gave 5 Angels and a Recommended Read! “The Reward is another magnificent creation from the mind of a brilliant author.”
You can buy it at MBAM, on Amazon, and buy it with The Prize for a special price of $24.10 for both!
You can also get it on Barnes & Noble, or from your local Borders store.

To celebrate this momentous occasion (because I NEED to celebrate), I’m going to have a little giveaway!
Everyone that posts on my blog Tuesday and Wednesday (September 19-20) is going to be entered in a drawing. For what, you may ask? For a choice of paperback of The Bounty or The Prize with matching bookmark of course! *gasp*
Worth playing for? Come on, let the games begin!

Snarky allergies…

I had a suspicion that I was allergic to some kind of food… through experimentation of my own, I thought it was wheat. I made an appointment at my allergists and headed off to be pricked this morning.
Welll, it didn’t turn out quite like I expected. Not only did I test positive for wheat, but I also tested positive for soy! *gasp* Soy is like a total staple in my diet – a high protein ingredient in a lot of the food I eat.
*sob*
*sniffle, sniffle*
What the hell am I going to eat? Ye gods, that eliminates like 90% of food! Not only that, but the food I have to buy to be wheat free or soy free is expensive. Cashola, man. NOT what I need right now.
So everyone send me good vibes that I find something other than eggs and cheese that I can not only afford, but that I can eat.
