Better late than never

Geez, it’s 3 pm and the day has gotten away from me! New Year’s Eve in my house is fun finger food and movies.
I finished (yipee!!!) my final edit on The Education of Madeline. Gawd, did you hear that big gust come out of me? That was a sigh of relief. It’s like giving birth, I tell ya! :clap_tb: Look for this erotic historical to be pubbed by Loose Id in the spring. She is already under contract. :happy_tb:
Next, some business with synopses (which I suck at), and some rewrites for The Trouble with Packer.
My game face worked, even if I haven’t gotten to my Muse story yet. :grin2_ee:
Hey! Starting in January, I am a TRS Blue feature. Stop by and take a lookee.
Everyone have a wonderful, safe New Year!!

The game face is working

Remember my game face? :grin2_ee:
It’s working! I finished the first draft of my WIP, The Education of Madeline, yesterday! Wooooohoooo!!! :clap_tb:
So what’s next? I’ve been working on editing The Trouble with Packer to bulk it up to submit to Amber Quill for their HeatWave contest. Should be done today along with my Maddie edits! :thumbup_tb:
Next I think I’ll do my Loose Id proposals and leave my Muse story for last. :grin2_ee:
BTW, y’all, don’t forget The Reward is the cover of the week this week on Erin Aislinn’s site!!

Lumpity lump

For all you men out there that may be reading this, you may want to find something else to read today.
I discovered a lump two months ago with my regular GP. She sent me for a diagnostic mammogram/ultrasound which came back negative, meaning no lumps or masses.
So I’m imagining things? :unsure_tb: I waited another month, checking to see what I found. Still tender, still lumpish. Sigh… so I went to a breast surgeon yesterday and she confirmed the lump diagnosis. It’s the size of a small pea. She took cells with a needle (ouchity ouch) and I am now scheduled for a lumpectomy next week. Surgery. Knife. :sad_tb:
Y’all I was okay until I talked to my Mom, then I bawled like a baby. No, there is no history of cancer, just fibrocystic disease (fibrous lumps). But the possibility that it may be something else is terrifying.
Okay, I’m sure it will be fine. I’ll keep y’all updated. In the mean time, forgive me if I forget shit or call you by the wrong name.
In the true tradition of carpe diem, I’m seizing the day to say thanks for reading my blog. To all my online peeps – love ya, dolls.

What's Your Dream World Like?

Stole this from Cece.

What’s Your Dream World Like?

brought to you by Quizilla
In your dream world there are faeries . . . and dragons, and elves, and ogres. Your mind is like a page out of J.R.R. Tolkiens books, full of action, adventure, and magic. You can be an evil sorcerer, or elfin hero. You can slay the griffons, or enslave the humans. Whatever you want, its your imagination, there you can do anything . . .
Interesting… I love the statement that my mind is “full of action, adventure, and magic!” That’s very cool!

Putting my game face on

Here’s my game face: :grin2_ee:
Why do I need one? Because I have the next seven days to write, write, write. I’m on holiday from my “real” job and home with my two boys.
Sounds busy? Nah, they’re 13 and 9, very self-sufficient. Besides, they are very busy playing with their Christmas loot. :happy_tb:
So, I’ll be finishing my WIP, The Education of Madeline, coming from Loose Id in 2006! Yay! (Hope you’re listening L2). :clap_tb:
Then I’ll be polishing up The Trouble with Packer to submit to the Amber Quill Heat Wave Contest. This is the story I wrote for my CowboyLovers Yahoo group. It fits the criteria, so what the heck? They all said “go for it!” so I am. :thumbup_tb:
Next I need to write my Clio muse anthology. The rest of the muses and I are writing a series of three anthologies with three stories each for Triskelion. It’s only about 20-25K so it won’t take me long.
Then, last but not least by any means, are the full proposals for my bowling series. What’s that you ask? Well, it’s a series of three novellas called The Perfect Score about three women in a bowling alley in Texas that find love, along with hot, sweet sex. I’m subbing them to Loose Id so keep your fingers crossed. :wink1_tb:
Okay, then, game face on! :grin2_ee:

Thought I'd toot my own horn today

Honk, toot, dingle! Okay, whatever kind of horn I lay my hands on, we’re covered. :clap_tb:
First, don’t forget that I am the Tease of the Week starting the 19th on Wickledly Yours. This was a fun promotion by the owner of Wickledly Yours… read all about me and The Reward, my award winning novel. :smile2_ee:
Second, I got two reviews for The Harder They Fall! Woohoo!! :king_tb: First one was from the lovely Chrissy Dionne at Romance Junkies. She gave it 4.5 Blue Ribbons and had this to say about it: “a charmingly hot story full of passion for both the rodeo and the characters. Wonderful story.”
The other review was from Nannette at Joyfully Reviewed. She said “The desire and passion between TJ and Hank is almost overwhelming… One scene in particular gave me chills. Hank says something so poignant I wanted to weep…a true love story. I found it to be sweet, hot, and full of emotion!” I got the bunny!! the bunny!!
Tooting along… Novelspot still has their author poll up and after two weeks, I’m still winning! I’ve got 24% of the vote and that is beating some heavy duty names. Thanks y’all for voting for me. :wub_tb:
Whew, getting wheezy here…
Starting December 26, The Reward is the Book Cover of the Week at Erin Aislinn’s website. Woohoo! You can vote for it January 5-31 – don’t worry, I’ll remind you. :wink1_tb:
Last (damn I need more coffee), coming in the new year are two wonderful things. The first is that I am a TRS Blue Feature in January. The second is the publication of Vixen Virgins! Look out y’all, Vixen Virgins Tour 2006 is coming soon!! :grin2_ee: The tour begins December 30 on the Behind the Muses Yahoo group.
Okay, my horns are broken now. Hope y’all have a good day. :bye_tb:

Quit yer bellyachin'!

That was my mantra yesterday – to stop whining about being sick. :nono_tb: Okay, so I’ve got a virus and my ears are clogged, throat hurts, chest hurts, nose is beyond saving, and my lips are chapped. Blah, blah, blah. I’ve purchased 4 boxes of tissues and used two of them. :ohmy_tb: Yackity, yackity, yackity.
I need to step back and look beyond my little circle of germs and look at the real world. It kicked me in the ass when I found out that one of my online pals (Cathie – TBRAnxiety/AuntCaffey) had a harrowing experience with a near burst appendix that resulted in major surgery where many tumors and lesions were removed from her organs. Poor Cathie! :glurps_tb: I knew she had been sick for a while, but hadn’t asked specifics. But holy Mary, she has over 100 stitches to close the incision they made in her torso! :sad_tb:
Then I e-mail her and she is as wonderful and chipper as ever. Praising her DH, her son, her doctor. No whining or bellyaching, just thankful to be alive and enjoying her family.
That made me reevaluate my whining just a bit… okay completely! Cathie is a wonderful person and I hope her recovery is smooth and with as little pain as possible. :innocent1_tb: And me? I’m gonna quit bellyachin’ and be thankful my family is healthy and here with me. Truly to be thankful for what I have.
So thank you, dear readers and friends. I’m super glad to have you. :bye_tb:

What color is your soul

Yep, another quiz. This frigging virus is kicking my ass so I’m going to be lazy today and post a quiz.
What color is your soul? Mine is purple (oh, big surprise to anybody that knows me).

What Color is Your Soul? {8 results + artsitic pics}

brought to you by Quizilla
Your Soul is Purple – Artist, dreamer, creative. You are lost in your thoughts, and have a dislike of reality (probably finding it boring). You have to remeber that every idea is based off the reality you know. Magic is everyware, you just have to see it. Thinking, and creating things from your mind, are your top priorities (not to mention what your best at). Keep at it, a little imagination can take you far.
