Sunday Scramble

Okay, I was waiting for them to call, but they always manage to surprise us anyway. My husband’s brothers live in CT and vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. They have stopped on the way down before, and now they’re going to stop on the way back (we live in central NC).
Sigh… we expected them yesterday. They just called and say “hey, mind if we stop by?” Well, there are a total of seven of them including kids, plus the four of us. That makes eleven people! DH doesn’t ask if they’re going to be here for a meal so I don’t know if I’m cooking or finding my ass with both hands!
Here I sit, trying to get my online stuff done and try not to think about scrambling to clean my house (that’s what kids are for right?).
It’s a Sunday scramble all right. DH is so excited to see his brothers so I can’t rant too much. He only sees them one or two times a year. And they’re Italian. And loud. You probably won’t see much of me after 1 p.m. today.

sounds just like an “order pizza take out” so you can also relax with the family…enjoy the times you all have together glenda

Poor Bethy! I agree with Glenda. Order some pizza, toss in some paper plates and canned soda, and let the wolves clean up after themselves. Hope you have fun anyway! Maybe your next WIP can feature a loud, boisterous Italian family. Always look for inspiration, right?

The pizza thing is probably what we will do, I mean, I don’t want to clean up after all of them after I just spent the morning cleaning the house!

I’ll have to think about the loud italian family thing in a WIP…. they’d probably all go nuts if I put them in an erotic romance.

I think using your inlaws for research in a WIP is a great idea. I mean, if you gotta feed ‘em, they may as well do their part!

    Keep smiling….

Hee hee. Thanks y’all. They didn’t get here until 5 o’clock… bad traffic coming from the beach. And they just left (4 hours later). It was like a hurricane hit the house. Damn, I am whooped (that’s southern for dog-tired).
I think I need an adult beverage, an advil or two, and a soft comfy seat.
    BTW – I think I got a few story ideas… Don’t tell ‘em I told you.

How old do the kids have to be when you can make them do the housework? Someone so needs to clue me in on this, I’m still watching mine make the house a mess…
